To Grandma from her granddaughter, Alicia

When I was asked to share a memory of Grandma, I couldn't think of just one special moment. Frankly, because there were just too many. I couldn't possibly share them all.

She was the cheerleader of our lives, attending every band concert, ice skating competition, award ceremony and graduation. She was there for it all. She was the smiling face that greeted us at the door after coming back from an adventurous afternoon at the lake. We were most likely covered in mud and sand and she would have warm water ready to wash us off and wrap us in a towel hug.

When I was little she was my slug hunting buddy. Looking back, I'm not sure why she agreed to that, but nonetheless, she did because she loved us, loved being with us, and encouraged our sense of adventure.

When I was a teenager she taught me how to swing a golf club and the importance of being honest when keeping score. (Because if you cheat, you're only cheating yourself) She also threw in the fact that wealthy, good looking men play golf, which is solid advice for anyone wondering. :)

I remember countless boat cruises around the lake, card games at night, and camp fires. When we water skied by the cabin we would be sure to really turn it up because we knew she would be watching.

Now that I have kids of my own, it was so special to see her unconditional love for them. I know that love is what she felt for all of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She would look at them with a proud gaze and just grin...so happy to be around her family.

She was one special lady, who was full of love, compassion, and a little bit of sass. The best Christmas cookie and pie baker around. She was beyond special to me. The memories shared with her will live in our hearts forever. I'll miss you, Ganga.

Giving and loving lady; always ready to share a meal and a smile with friends. She and mother, Mary Hall, were fellow Jills and great pals. Love and God's blessing on you Sharon. And warm prayers to "Floydy" and the whole family; I wish I was there to share in the celebration of her life with you!
