MEMORIAL OF LIFE

Steven Edward Peter's aka; Camaro Steve, Corvette Steve & Cowboy Steve The afternoon of February 24th 2014. Steve passed away after an eight-year battle with cancer while being attended by the fantastic staff at the Josephine Sunset Home in Stanwood, WA. Steve was 55 years old. Steve Peters was born in Seattle, WA on August 23rd 1958 He was the second child, and second son, of Barbara R and Raymond A Peters. Steve was very active throughout his life from his childhood days of participating in many sports, his love for music of many sorts, his enduring passion for hydroplane racing, his love for all the sport teams associated with the state of Washington, particular the Sonics, Mariners and Huskies and of course the Seahawks whom he watched win their Super Bowl. Steve was an active softball player for many years playing men's competitive softball and his favorite softball being the clean & sober co-ed softball played at his childhood ball fields Hamlin Park in Shoreline, WA. Steve was a great pool player winning many pool tournaments and loved to show his skills while performing many "trick" shots. Steve was a great outdoorsman who loved fishing & hunting, with his father, friends and anyone who cared to participate. His favorite fishing spot was Seiku, WA and his favorite hunting spot was in Easton, WA he made many trips to his favorite spots. Steve was an active member of Alcoholic Anonymous and recently celebrated his 22nd year of sobriety and was actively involved in the program and the fellowship, he was involved many ways with the Ed-Lynn fellowship from president to treasure, to chair person to helping anyone he possibly could to stay sober. He and other friends rented a house that became known as the "animal house" where anyone who needed a place to gel sober, sleep or grab a hot meal was welcomed. Steve had some obsessions and none greater than his love for ketchup for everything was better with ketchup according to Steve. He had a love for animals especially his dogs and horses, he loved his "ranch" that he and his wife Kimberly Susan Peters shared in Arlington, WA. He would enjoy having pig roasts at the ranch while sharing great stories and good times with his many family and friends. Steve welcomed everyone to any of the events he would coordinate from camping, fishing, hunting to just hanging at the ranch. Steve worked in the automotive industry for most of his life starting as an automobile detailer, to running specific departments within car dealerships, you could not give Steve to much work as he always challenged you for more! His organizational skills were exceptional as was his work ethic and dependability.

Steve loved life to it's fullest and he loved the people in his life!

Steve was "preceded in death by": His father Raymond A Peters, mother Barbara R Mattson, brother Scott M Peters and stepfather Dick Mattson.

Steve "is survived by" His Best friend Russ McDuffie Brothers Bob (Bonnie) Peters & Richard (Diana) Peters, Dan (Leslie) Farrar, Stacy (Theresa) Mattson, Sisters Jean (Bill) Cornell, Terrie Joe Grove, Tracy (Keith) Mehus, Linda (Dave) Zombori, and many friends of Bill W.

I grew up on the same block with Tracy, Stacy, Brian, Scott and Steve. My favorite memory of Steve was a street baseball game where we'd just gather a bunch of us kids and get a tennis ball, form teams and start up. Steve was the pitcher and was egging me on, a scrawny little girl much younger than him. I hit a line drive straight into the middle of him and all he could do was try to catch his breath while laughing his head off at how this punk kid had shown him! He always had the coolest cars and even back then you knew he had a sweet spirit. God rest Steve.

I remember at one of the camp outs I attended one year where one of the guys accidentally wrecked Steve's jet ski. I braced myself for a yelling fest, as I had been accustomed to that kind of reaction when stuff like that happened, only to hear Steve look at the damage and say "bummer". No yelling, no making the guy feel bad. That blew me away! A memory I will always have. You were one of a kind Steve!
