Vivian Marjorie Bell

Vivian was born on April 9, 1921 in Jasper, Alabama, to Roy and Lela Smith. She died on January 29, 2013 in Mountlake Terrace, Washington. She died peacefully from old age.

Vivian grew up in Alabama then moved to Sequim, Wa with her family. She met Oren F. Bell in Sequim. They married in 1945. After Oren finished college, they settled in north Seattle.

Vivian worked several years at the Bon Marche. She enjoyed cooking, music, growing flowers and travel. In mid-life she learned to paint. The family has several of her oil paintings as prized reminders of her talent. She loved to prepare food for all of our family holidays and gatherings. Her family meant the world to her.

She is survived by her daughters, Teresa Tonnemaker of Mukilteo, Wa and Anita Carlson of Port Orchard, Wa, and by her brother Ken Smith of Birmingham, Al; son in law Gary Tonnemaker and son in law Dan Carlson, also grandchildren Katie, Heather and Alex Tonnemaker and Chris & Jessica Carlson.

Vivian was preceded in death by her brothers Alvin Smith of Birmingham, John Smith of Sequim, and sister Hazel Teague of Sequim.

Vivian's family, friends and many others will miss her very much. She was a good friend to many people.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday February 10, at 3:30 pm at Ronald United Methodist Church in Shoreline, Wa. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the Ronald UMC Memorial Fund.
