Wayne Metsker Obituary
Wayne passed away at age 91 on September 23, 2015. He is survived by Clifford Ballard, Kimberly, Steve, Tanner and Travis Phelps and Elaine Pedersen.
Wayne served in the United States Air Force during World War II and was honorably discharged as a technical sergeant. He then graduated from the University of Oregon with a Masters and went on to teach for 25 years in Long Beach, CA. After moving to Seattle he taught as a substitute for the Shoreline School District. Wayne supported and was an active member of the United Nations Association, Greater Seattle Chapter.
Memorial service will be held Sunday, October 11, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. at the University Unitarian Church, 6556 35th Avenue NE, Seattle, WA.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the American Heart Assoc.

Mr. Metsker - You had a more profound impact on me than all of my other high school teachers combined. The only teacher who ever took a genuine human interest in me, and who pointed to me the way, at the crucial crossroads of my life. Thank you, forever. Ed

So sorry for your loss. Mr. Metsker, I will always remember the joy of seeing you at the front of the classroom as our substitute. Godspeed sir, you are a Spartan through and through.
