William Waring Obituary

The Rev. William (Bill) Davis Waring

Rev. Waring was born on August 27, 1925 in Vancouver, B.C. to William and Edna Mae Waring. He passed away on May 2, 2015 in Seattle. During and after WWII, Rev. Waring served in the Royal Canadian Air Force. Following his military service, Rev Waring attended the University of British Columbia, then Western Washington University, where he received a Bachelor of Arts Degree. Following college, Rev. Waring first worked as a public school teacher in Washington State and in California, followed by his service as an immigration and customs inspector, then as an instructor of English as a second language at Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara, Mexico.

Rev. Waring was ordained to the Diaconate in 1977, then to the Priesthood in 1979, in the Episcopal Church. His religious service included serving as a Curate in Guadalajara, Mexico, as an Assistant, Rector and Priest-in-Charge & Chaplain in Zimbabwe, as a Vicar in Buenos Aires, Argentina, also in the same capacity in Uruguary, as Vicar at St. George, Maple Valley, Wa. and as Priest-in-Charge at Port-au-Spain.

During his retirement, Rev. Waring celebrated and officiated at several congregations in the Diocese of Olympia.

A celebration of Rev Waring's life will be held on Sat. May 16 2015 at 10:00 am at St. Dunstan's Church, 722 N. 145th St., Shoreline, WA.
