William DEFREES Obituary

William P. DEFREES William 'Bill' Parmalee DeFrees went home to the Lord on June 18, 2011 at the age of 88. William was the second of four children born to Harold Jacob DeFrees and Gladys Parmalee DeFrees. His parents, brother, Jack and sister, Delores Haskins preceded him in death. William grew up in Oneida, New York, where he lived until he enlisted in the Navy, serving six years of active duty. William married Margaret Kruick on January 1, 1946. Together they celebrated 65 plus years of marriage. William is survived by his wife; son John (Barbara) and Douglas (Rosalyn) and daughter, Berdine. He is also survived by his sister, Dorthea Storey, half brother David DeFrees (Mary) and five grand-children, Marleen Hoople, 'BJ' DeFrees, Nick, Jillian and Abbey DeFrees and one great grandchild, Trevor Hoople. William enjoyed bowling, fishing, camping, skiing and in later life, word search puzzles. There will be a viewing Friday, June 24th at Evergreen-Washelli Funeral Home, 11111 Aurora Avenue North, Seattle from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Graveside committal on Saturday, June 25th at 11:00 AM at Cypress Lawn Cemetery 1615 SE Everett Mall Way, Everett; followed by a Memorial Service at 1:00 PM at the First Christian Reformed Church, 14555 25th Avenue NE, Shoreline, WA 98155. Memorial may be made to Shoreline Christian School, 2400 NE 147th Street, Shoreline, WA 98155 or a charity of your choice.
