Yukie Onishi Obituary
Yukie Onishi, 76, passed away unexpectedly on April 30, 2014, in Shoreline, WA. Yukie was born at home in Seattle on May 19, 1937.
She graduated from Auburn High School and worked for Swedish Hospital (formerly Doctors Hospital) for over thirty years in the dietary division.
She was an extremely warm, kind and generous person. She loved traveling and had an adventurous spirit. She visited countries all over Europe and the world, including Fiji and New Zealand. Children and animals held a special place in Yukie's heart and she loved spending time with family and friends. Helping and giving to others in need gave her the greatest joy.
Yukie possessed strong, quiet, unshakable faith in God. She was a longtime member of Mount Zion Church.
She is survived by her sister, Shima Hoshisaki, her niece Kris Tsujikawa, nephews Jason Tsujikawa, Grant Hoshisaki, Eric Onishi, Greg Onishi, Scott Onishi, Marc Onishi, and several grandnieces and grandnephews.
Memorial services will be held at Mt. Zion Baptist Church located at 1634 19th Avenue, Seattle, on Saturday, May 17 at 11am. Visitation is from 9am until 11am. Lunch will be served following the service.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Vision Loss Connection, Swedish Cancer Institute Foundation, Senior Services of Seattle or the charity of your choice.

On the annivesary of Yukie's death, in the middle of a pandemic, it is good to remember her cheerfulness and willingness to meet new people. As I said before we need more people like Yuki. All the best to the family and friends. Also from my friend Tim, who lived in the same adult family home with Yuki (which is how I came to meet her).

Our condolences to Yukie's family for the loss of a lovely person. I only had the pleasure of meeting her one time, but her acquaintance will be missed, even after such a brief encounter. We need more people like Yukie in this world. Ellen & Stewart
