I realize that this is long past due, however, I had the pleasure of meeting and getting to know Mr. Booker and his family. I would like to say that he was a very giving and loving husband, father and friend. He will be missed by all who knew him as well as blessed if you were ever able to meet him personally.

Debbie, Little Mama, and Family:

Although I never met your Dad/Husband.....

I felt personally.....
(as if he were...... (by extension)
a daily part of my life too....

I truly wish that I could have met him face to face....

I did experience his presence and spirit through a phone conversation that we had .......

(where I was explaining alternative natural treatment options......)

It was apparent ......
even via telephone.....
just why he was so admired....
and loved by all who knew him......

I have heard many of Debbie's stories of her love and admiration for this special human being....

(that seemed to make a "monumental impact" on all of those lucky people that he encountered.....)

My first impression of him......
that struck me greatly was......

No Nonsense, Fair, and Direct.....
with an all encompassing Love for his family......

as well as humanity in general.....

It seems that his character alone inspired others ......

to reach beyond their perceived limitations.....

and to further embrace their greater potential....

My Father told me on many occasions that:

"You will know a man's character from his handshake.....
and by his eye contact".....

I have read a few comments here about this man's.......

"all encompassing handshake"....

This only adds to.....
and re-enforces the positive image that I already had formed of this man on my own.....

It has been said that people...... like electricity......

try and take the easiest routes in life.....

and try to follow the path of.....
"least resistance"......

From what I have been told of this man ......

If you thought you were going to get away with that nonsense....

Well...."GOOD LUCK".......

I envisioned this man of character.....

making sure to let you know straight away..... and directly......

(from his first handshake or utterance.....)

that:

Your "Very Best".......
would be the only acceptable path....

Honesty, Respect, Strength, Perseverance, Kindness and 100% Effort with regard to each.....

would be the only thing that he would allow towards himself and those that he loved to accept for themselves......
and from others.....

"Lucky" and" Blessed".....

you all have been.....

to have had such a rewarding..... and positive experience in your lives.....

My wish for you all is that......

You are all able to find the strength needed within yourselves.....

to carry on with an ever strong heart......

I believe that somehow finding your "inner strength" would be the best tribute that you could give to his memory.....

(and probably make him grin from ear to ear with happiness.....)

Your strength "IS" his peace and reward......

Memories.....
whether covered in laughter or tears.....

are a precious gifts.....
not to be missed......

Somehow.......
I suspect that he knew this......

I send you all thoughts of strength and peace in the days to come....

Love,

Kendall
(Debbie's friend)

(Tom sends his thoughts as well....
He would have loved to meet him too......)

Hello to The Booker Family, which is my family also. First of all I'm More Than Sorry that you all have lost dad. Your family always made my son and myself feel happy and connected. We were very excited when you all would stay at The Showboat, because it was so close to our residence. Dad will always be here in Spirit, because he taught all of us so much. Your mom and dad are wonderful people, we should all be so Blessed to know them. Caring, Classy, and Compassionate, I never knew when I'd turn aroun and one of you Booker's would be there with the brightest smile on your faces to make me happier than I was. I love all of you and it's because what you're made of. It's all in the foundation, the fruit don't fall far from the tree. He knows that his family can take care of themselves, because he led by example, and taught you how to. Many Many Blessings, Forever and Always........

I want to express my deepest condolences to the Booker Family for their great loss. Although I never met Art personally, I feel as though he touched my life through a personal friendship with his sister Vivian. Through her grace and how she carries herself, I know how good of a man he was and what a rich and complete life he lived. I can only hope and pray that God blesses me with a long and happy life, too. Having lost my father when I was only 5, I have wondered all my life what sort of man my father would have become had he chosen to live. Would he have been a good dad? I have imagined that he would have been like Art Booker in many ways. Proud and strong. His family must be very proud of him and his life achievements. Reading his biography, I am amazed by how much he accomplished in his long life. May God bless him and his family. Mrs. Booker, my sincerest condolences to you and yours.

Sincere condolences to my dear schoolmate Wilda and family. It is with deep sorrow to hear of Art's passing. It was a distinct pleasure meeting Art for the first time during our class reunion in 2004; it felt like we knew each other for many years and also to know a fellow USAF veteran. May God grant you and your family the strength to overcome this great loss and to carry on his wonderful legacy.

Wilda, Art, Frank, Marcia and Debbie
It was an honor to know your father and have the pleasure of calling him Uncle Art.
He was a good man, honest, straight forward, strict, caring and always aware.
I have had the opportunity to learn from amazing leaders including Sarge and Art.
Art was very influential part of my life and I will treasure those memories for all of my days.

I will always remember his strong hand shake, which was amazing even in his final days.
My (Our) deepest condolences for your loss.

Wilda and family,
Art was by far the finest mentor I ever had. His example and advice have served me well throughout my careers.
One thing I could never copy was his ability to tell anyone (General to Gardener) that he disagreed with their opinion, and still have them walk away with a smile on their face and often with a changed opinion. Alice and I will hold you all in our thoughts and prayers as you adjust to not having Art physically with you each day. His spirit will always be with everyone he ever touched.

Wilda and Family,
If there was ever a person who stood out as an example of what a mentor should be, Art was it. He proved what perseverance could achieve in the military or civilian life. Heaven has indeed accepted a wonderful addition.
