Calvin was born in Seattle, WA on March 8, 1933, to Clifton Harold Evans, Sr. and Vivian Thelma (Hamilton) Evans, both deceased. His brothers, Clifton Harold Evans, Jr. (Jerry) (Mother, Eleanor B. Gailey) and Richard Stanley Evans (Marilyn) are deceased. He is survived by brother James Raleigh Evans and sisters Virginia Marie Evans Kleinsasser (Leslie) and Carol Arlene Evans. He has four living Children, Vicki Ann Evans Sansing (Ron), Calvin Hamilton Evans, Jr., Kenneth Lee Evans, and Sharon Arlene Evans Eaden (David). He is blessed with 10 beautiful grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. After High School, Calvin served as an Air Force Police Officer in the Armed Forces, spending a good deal of that time in Korea. He met his wife, Shirley Ann Gilham, (later divorced) while stationed in Cut Bank, Montana. After serving for four years, he returned home to the Seattle area (Tacoma). He has lived in Kirkland and Redmond, and in 1971, moved from Redmond to his long time residence in Duvall, WA. In 2003, he moved to Sultan, WA, and then to Kent, WA in 2008. Calvin worked successfully as a contractor and developer in the Seattle Area most of his life. While living in Duvall, he owned a private airstrip, which became known as the Duvall Airport. After selling the Airport property in the 80's he moved to adjacent property where he lived for over 20 years. That property was sold and developed into what is now known as the neighborhood 'Evans Pond', appropriately named for the small pond in the neighborhood greenbelt that used to be Mr. Evans' backyard. Mr. Evans enjoyed many hobbies including hunting, flying, farming, and mechanics. We all know him best in his rubber boots and brown gloves, with a wrench in his hand and a beloved dog by his side. He was happiest when he had a piece of machinery that had to be fixed, or a tree that must be turned into firewood. He loved making the rounds to feed his animals and especially liked a good conversation. A memorial service will be held at Acacia Funeral Home in Lake City, tues April 12, 1:00 pm.
