Leon Witsoe Obituary

Leon B. "Butch" WITSOE Born Feb. 8, 1948 in Seattle, died Jan. 19, 2011 in Seattle. The youngest son of Joe and Judith Witsoe, brother of Irene Stewart, Jeanette Arseneau, Delores Jessup and Barbara Bayer and uncle of Mitch Williams who preceded him in death. Butch is survived by a sister Sandra (Jim) Barnhart and four brothers Jack (Roberta), Wayne (Vicki), Roger (Erika) and Mike (Debbie). He is also survived by 73 nieces and nephews, two special aunts and many other relatives and friends. Butch loved to work on his pickup truck and visit his favorite place Golden Gardens in Ballard where he grew up with 9 brothers and sisters and participated in many loving family events. Butch also enjoyed all local sporting events and it was a rare day to see him without his Husky hat. He lived in an apartment complex in North Seattle and in his last years was very fond of his neighbors in the complex and the relationships he developed. His family express their deep appreciation to those neighbors who shared Butch's life and dreams. He will be deeply missed by all those who remain. Although there will not be any formal service, the family invites you to sign the online memorial guest book at www.acaciafuneralhome.com

So sorry to read about Butch's passing. When I worked for my dad, at Howard's Used Cars in Ballard, I use to see Butch and Judith walking to Schuck's across the street. I'd wave and they would cross 15th Ave.N.W. to visit me. That was back in the 80's and there was a lot of traffic then, but they still would cross and visit. He will be missed, surely.
