Dearest Millie,
You will be terribly missed, especially at our Christmas Eve get together. I have known you since I was 17 and have considered you my Grandma since. I remember going to Hoods Canal every year when we were young and you made the best clam chowder! Larry tells me great memories of when he was a young boy and stayed weekends with you - days he will treasure. Don't worry, in so few years we will all be together again. Love, Cindi and Larry

Momma,
I don't know if I am supposed to write a 2nd letter, but I feel like writing you anyway. With you living with Kathy and I the last few years of your life, along with half of the years prior, you had become part of our household. In your passing the good Lord had blessed me with peace that surpasses all understanding that you were in a way better place. "To be out of the body and in the presents of the Lord if far greater." But now there is a great void in Kathy and my lives, and I miss you so much. Summer is sneaking up on us and as Kathy and I make plans, it will not be the same camping and fishing like the past four or five years was with you. But I know that this year every firepit we sit around will be in memory of you...I love you Momma, and miss you as much. Thank you for everything you had done for Kathy the children and I. My hope is that your selflessness has been passed on to all of us. And this year in your memory, all the children and grandchildren get a pair of socks for Christmas....forever in my heart, Chuck

Grandma, I feel so blessed that you were part of my life and formed compassion in me. I always felt, and still do feel your love surrounding me. A memory that I will treasure forever is this past summer at the family reunion. You and Adrhia burst out into song, singing Jesus loves me. Others joined in, and the moment for me was a perfect one of content, happiness, and a love for life and family. I am sad that you are no longer on this earth with us, but I know that you watch over us. I feel your love every day, Grandama. I will strive to be more like you.
Your loving Grandaughter,
Lara

Grandma,
You were the best. So kind and patient and positive. I have a ton of fond memories of visiting your house growing up! Playing with Maria, Michael, Chucky & Krista everywhere - in the house, in the yard, across the street in the school yard - with you making sure we were OK. I'm also thankful that you got to live with my parents for a handful of years later in life. Every time I visited home, you were there! Plus you and Cliff got to know each other that way. I cherish our talks and all our time together!
Lots of love,
Nicole

Being Mildred's youngest brother, I was entrusted to her care when my mother was no longer able to care for me due to the birth of her ninth child, my sister, Leora. My mother trusted Mildred to care for me as she was a strong healthy girl at age 10. She carried me and played with me as a real live doll. She was full of love. Later in life as I enrolled in college, she and her husband, Al, provided me with lodging while I was looking for a room nearer the school. She was like a second mother to me.

Thank you Momma for the love you shared, the wisdom of 96 years you taught, the laughter and joy you brought into the home and the example you left for us all to follow. You will be missed exspecially camping and fishing, along with you over seeing us in the garden. But God has so graciousely blessed us with peace and faith knowing that in a twinkel of the eye we all will meet the Lord TOGETHER in the sky...Hallelujah Jesus! Oh Mildred,
Although I didn't spend a lot of time with you over the years, I so appreciated your gentle spirit and loving way of being with people of all walks of life. You were able to "go with the flow" of life whatever it seemed to bring you. What I find so wonderful is your ease and grace throughout life even when life wasn't always easy.
Thank you Mildred for a gentle reminder that life is full and to be enjoyed.

You have been such a warm and loving mother and grandmother for everyone in our family. Stefan and I enjoyed having you live with us because you were able to share so much of your own way of seeing the world with us. You made that world a better place with everything you said and did. We love you mom!

The photos are wonderful! Such a long, full, life--every experience one could imagine. We have been the recipients of many a loving hug from Mildred and feel privileged to have known her. It's like she finally knew for sure that her much-loved ones are safe, and she could leave that body, headed for a higher plain with good dirt and better fishing. I'm sad, but glad she is free, and home again in spirit. Have a safe journey Mildred--we love you! JoAnne, Leslie, Dede and Susie Brockelsby, and Eddie, too :)
