Lee Cappelletti Obituary

Lee E. CAPPELLETTI March 6, 1919 ~ March 1, 2011 Lee passed away peacefully in the early hours of March 1. A native of Seattle's Garlic Gulch neighborhood, and graduate of Franklin High School, he lived most of his life in Bellevue and later years in Redmond. He was preceded in death by his loving, faithful wife Rose to whom he was a devoted and dedicated husband of 52 years. Lee was 1 of 7 children born to Dominic and Nunziata Cappelletti. Though saddened through the years by the loss of brothers Pete, Paul, Ross, Bill and Nick, he is survived by brother John of Renton, sister Anne Little of Las Vegas, as well as sons Lee (Jane) and Bob (Lori), daughter Connie Todd, 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. During WWII Lee attained the rank of Master Sergeant, the highest possible for an enlisted man. He saw action in North Africa and the Italian theatres. Upon his return from the war in 1946, Lee founded what was to become one of the largest and most successful shoe repairs in the country in Bellevue Square. His excellent craftsmanship, integrity and dedication to perfection made Lee's Shoe Service an icon in the industry and highly regarded by peers. There was no lack of men who wanted to work for him due to his fair, honest ethics and care of his employees. Lee and his wife Rose were lifelong members of Sacred Heart Church in Bellevue. Lee enjoyed music and reading more than anything else. No one can ever recall a time where he did not have a book, magazine or newspaper in his hands. He also enjoyed traveling and spending time with his friends and family. He will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him. Graveside service Saturday March 12, 2011, at 2:30 pm, Sunset Hills Memorial Park, Bellevue. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that remembrances be made to a children's charity of choice. Remembrances may be shared at www.sunsethillsfuneralhome.com.
