Scott Lowe Obituary

Scott Collier LOWE 2/05/58 ~ 3/20/12 Scott had an irresistible zest for life. He was known for his ready smile and quick wit, his sports knowledge, music enthusiasm, and love for his friends and family. Although his life was cut short by relentless ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease), Scott lived his life to the fullest. Born and raised in West Seattle, Scott was an ice hockey referee for almost 40 years, and worked for the Western Hockey League for over twenty years as an Off-Ice official- most recently as a Video Goal Judge. The Seattle Thunderbirds Hockey team honored Scott for his service with a ceremonial puck drop at the 12-17-11 game http://www.seattlethunderbirds.com/video/index/id /9ae63ce2c97c32c9fd14f52d70d21402. Scott loved all things sports. He coached several baseball teams for his son, practiced volleyball serves daily with his daughter, and participated in many sports himself. During the last summer of his life, Scott fulfilled his dream of playing on two baseball teams in the Puget Sound Senior Baseball League (PSSBL), having led the Barons to the 2010 Teton Championship the year before. Scott was a great husband and father. He coached, cheered, and played along in every moment of his family's lives. His death leaves a huge hole. Scott is survived by his wife of 24 years, Jeanne, and their children, Trevor and Rory, in addition to an extended family of sisters, brothers, nieces, nephews, and friends. A celebration of Scott's life will be held Sunday, April 22nd, from 1:00 to 4:00 at the University of Washington's Waterfront Activity Center located behind Husky Stadium at 3900 Montlake Blvd NE, Seattle, WA. So very sorry for your loss. Scott will be greatly missed. ALS is a very devastating disease. I know from personal experience how this disease can impact a family. Please know that Scott is at peace and is smiling down at all of you from heaven. May God's grace and His blessings be with you all.

Feel blessed to have had the chance to get to know Scott and play baseball alongside him these past few years. He was a wonderful leader, coach, teammate and friend. He will always be a part of the team and a part of me.

Scott and I worked together over several years at Weyerhaeuser. He was a great guy and I enjoyed his upbeat personality. His desk was always surrounded by the many bottles of "hot sauce" he collected. Rest In Peace.

Scott I will miss the days of finding the hottest of hot sauces, the trips to newly discovered restaurants, and of course the quests to the thrift shops for LPs! We had fun!I will forever miss you and those days!

Having played for Scott on the Barons, and winning the 2010 Championship was such a highlight. You could not help but feel better after spending time with Scott and conversing. Scott just made you feel better about things. I will miss him very much. The Barons will be dedicating the upcoming baseball season in Scott's' memory and will strive to play the game the right way...the way Scott showed us. RIP my friend.
