Dear Andrea, Peter, and families,
I have many, many, many wonderful memories of Bob, whom my family always called Uncle Bob. He was certainly a treasured member of our family! He was a fantastic friend to my father, Mike Zylstra, and they were a ton of fun together. We will all miss him but since he is such a part of our family's lore and memory, I know we will continue to think of him often, and with great fondness. It is nice to think of Bobby and Mikey, together again!
Our sincerest condolences to you and all your families.
Nancy Zylstra

To Bob's Family, I have so many fond memories of Bob and his gracious friendship with Mother, Irene Vandemark James Groves. Their mothers were sisters. She treasured his visits and cards. Bob flew to Beaumont, TX, to help Mother celebrate her 80th birthday in 1994. She was so proud to have him there.

Ben and I visited Seattle in 2004 and even in pain, Bob showed us around Seattle. Sadly, our visit was cut short after Mother passed away during our visit.

Bob's mother, Mary, helped to raise Mother and her sister, Betty Lou, after their mother died with they ware young until their Dad, Fred Vandemark, remarried. There weren't too many Sawyers Mother was close to, but Mary was certainly one of them. Mother always talked about how she was so mischievous.

So sorry to hear of your loss of Bob. We will always remember him.
