Phyllis Maxine Perry

Phyllis Maxine (Sundt) PERRY Phyllis passed away peacefully April 23, 2011, in Bellevue, Washington at the age of 90. She was born January 12, 1921 in Willmar, Minnesota to Martin and Vendla Sundt. Phyllis was the oldest of five children and attended Willmar High School. She left after her junior year to take care of her three sisters and brother while her mother worked. She moved to Seattle in 1942 and worked in a dry cleaning establishment. There she met the love of her life, Edward Perry. They were married on December 11, 1943. They raised three children in Seattle, later moving to Bellevue in 1965. Phyllis was a devoted wife and mother, and her home and family were her life. She took great pride and joy in her children, eleven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. She was a tremendous cook, talented gardener, loved creating quilts and crocheting blankets for all of her grandchildren and had a passion for dancing. Phyllis will be remembered for her unconditional love, youthful spirit, great strength, quick wit, positive attitude and warm smile. She loved life and laughter and was a true inspiration. She will be missed. "Hush, be still" Phyllis was preceded in death by her mother and father, sisters Jean, Lois, Carol and brother Ardell. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Ed; sons Michael (Evelyn) Perry, Dennis (Kelli) Perry; daughter Karen (Terry) Keller; grandchildren Stefani (Joe) Arya, Antonio (Taryn) Perry, Nicole (John) Hutmacher, John (Kristen) Keller, Angela (Andy) Carroll, Ryan (Stacey) Keller, Danielle (Josh) Lineback, Rebecca Keller, Erich Perry, Craig Perry, Nicholas Perry and nine great grandchildren. Heartfelt thanks go out to Rozie Frentiu for her loving and compassionate care during Phyllis's last days. We are truly grateful. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Phyllis's name to the Alzheimer's Association. A celebration of her life will be held on Thursday, April 28, at 11:00 AM at Columbia Funeral Home, 4567 Rainier Avenue South, Seattle, WA 98118.
