Miriam Lubow Obituary

Miriam LUBOW Our beloved mother passed peacefully on Tuesday, July 29th surrounded by her four children. She was born in Milan, Italy on October 17th 1935. She came to America in May of 1940 where she boarded a ship sailing from the Port of Genoa, called the SS Conte di Savoia. Her family settled in Scarsdale, NY. After High School, she returned to Europe and attended an Interpreter's school in Switzerland where she learned five languages. She met her husband Milton in NY where they were married in 1960. They moved to Albuquerque, NM to raise a family where she is proud to have answered an ad in a newspaper looking for a "Girl Friday". She became the first office manger and employee number seven to Bill Gates, Jr. She later became known as "Mama" to her Microsoft friends. She is survived by her husband Milton Lubow, four children Michelle, Stephanie, Yvonne and Warren and her six grandchildren. She lived her life for her children and grandchildren. She was incredibly courageous her last year when she was diagnosed with liver cancer. She loved to make others laugh and feel welcome through her kind heart and genuine words. Mom lit up a room with her smile and her presence. She loved bringing people together and always embraced her family with lots of love. She will be missed by her family and many friends. Memorial services will be held Friday, August 1st at 11:00 a.m. at Congregation Kol Ami (meets at Bear Creek Church in Woodinville). 16530 Avondale Rd, Woodinville, WA 98077. Michelle, Stephanie, Yvonne and Warren,

I'm sorry to hear of your mother's passing. I remember meeting her once a long time a go and thinking, "Wow she knows Bill Gates, how cool is that". And of course I tell people that to this day!

My thoughts are with you and your family as you go through this difficult time. Know that as long as she's in your heart and mind, she'll always be with you.

I can't express how very sorry I am for the loss of your mother. I've been dreading this news for the past year. I am so glad we were all able to get together in April for the Albuquerque photo reshoot; spending that dinner reminiscing with her was wonderful. I drove her to Vashon in June to get together with Andrea and Bobi. I'm just sorry that was to be the last time I would get to see her. My thoughts and prayers go out to your family.

Miriam couldn't have had more caring and devoted children and, I'm sure, your love and constant presence gave her much comfort.

May the love of your family and friends help you through this difficult time.

Love,
Flo
