Sallianne Davis Obituary

Sallianne Davis

Sallianne passed away after a short illness on June 7, 2013. Born in her grandmother's farmhouse April 17, 1925 near Reliance, South Dakota, she was the first child of Alice and Fred Nissen. Graduated from Reliance High 1943 and earned BS in Radio Speech from University of South Dakota. She worked at radio stations KELO, Sioux Falls and WCCO Minneapolis. She moved to California and married Robert J. Davis Jr. They raised their family in Los Angeles, where she taught 2nd grade at Fair Avenue Elementary School for 23 years. They moved to Seattle in 1992 and lived in the Blue Ridge community.

Sallianne is survived by her daughters Patricia Davis of Berkley, CA and Karleen Davis of Boise, ID; granddaughters Rhiannon Sperling and Sallianne Turley; brothers Keith Nissen of Seattle, Stan Nissen of Reliance, SD and sister Patricia Derrig of Seattle. Preceded in death by her husband in 2008 and her brother Spencer Nissen.

Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, July 13, 2013 at Shoreline Unitarian Universalist Church, 14724 1st Ave NE, Shoreline, WA 98155.

In lieu of flowers remembrances suggested to American Red Cross Serving King & Kitsap Counties.
