Alice Bjornson Obituary

Alice (Kitty) H. BJORNSON Alice passed away on February 22, 2011. She had resided at the Anderson House in Shoreline, Washington since January of 2009. Alice was born in Hallock, Minnesota on August 11, 1922. Following her graduation from Hallock High School in 1940, Alice moved to Minneapolis where she worked as a secretary for Sears and Roebuck for the following two years. Employment opportunities with the US Government took Alice to the Patterson Field air base in Dayton, Ohio in 1942 where she met her future husband and lifetime companion, Bayard Bjornson, then a major in the USAF. Alice and Bayard married on February 14, 1944. While Bayard subsequently focused on his career with the US Public Health Service, Alice focused her efforts on creating a loving and nurturing environment for the raising of their two sons, Douglas and Roger, three grandchildren, a great granddaughter, and her two brothers Russell and Kenneth Johnson. Alice's positive attitude combined with her warm and caring personality endeared her to all who met her and she will be greatly missed by her many friends as well as her family. A memorial service will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, 6215 196th St. SW in Lynnwood on Tuesday March 1st at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be sent to Trinity Lutheran Church.
