Alicia Mary Webster Forrest

Alicia Forrest Obituary

Alicia Mary Webster FORREST October 14, 1947 ~ March 30, 2011 Alicia Forrest was born Alicia Mary Webster on October 14, 1947. She was the second of four children to Frank and Betty Webster of Port Angeles, Washington. As a child and into adulthood, she demonstrated an inspirational passion for life as well as an independent tendency to forge her own path. Alicia was a sister, mother, grandmother and friend. She lived with profound grace, an outward and inward beauty, a deep personal strength, a tender touch or word, a thoughtful action, an adventurous spirit and a deep and abiding love for all whom she cared about. She was the mother of two sons, Richard (Rick) and Mark, to whom she was Mom: a mother, guide, an incredible helper, an encourager, hero and a friend. Her honest and loving parenting raised two men who have a deep love of family, a strong and abiding commitment to friends, a solid work ethic and a view of the world that sees things in black and white while leaving room for compassion and tenderness for those who end up getting stuck in the gray. Alicia was very strong. Diagnosed with cancer at age 40, she defeated the threat and put cancer in the rearview mirror for 20 years. At age 60 she was diagnosed again and without self-pity, she bravely moved forward against all odds, claiming three more years to live on her own terms. She did not lose the fight: At the very least it was a draw and anyone who knew her is better for it. Alicia is survived by her sons Richard (Rick) and Mark Forrest, granddaughters Rachel and Lauren Forrest, mother Betty Webster, sisters Bernadette Webster and Mary Everhart, brother Burke Webster, her former husband Frank Forrest, some really wonderful cousins and aunts who loved her dearly, and a wonderful circle of close friends; Penny, Scott, Shay, Marcia, Lisa, Eileen, Elizabeth, Leslie, Diane, Maureen, Donna, Fred and many others who treasured her. A Memorial will be held for close friends and family at The Grand Ballroom @TPC Snoqualmie Golf Club on April 14 at 1:30 p.m. Address: 36005 SE Ridge St., Snoqualmie, WA 98065
