Alma Rosling Allis

6/9/1921 ~ 11/8/2012

Born in Seattle, WA to parents Edward and Lucille Rosling, 2nd of 3 children (brothers Rusty and Bob), Alma graduated from Roosevelt High in 1939, earned a Chemistry degree in 1943 from the U of WA where she was an active member of the Alpha Phi Sorority. She then worked at the Standard Oil Refinery chem lab in Richmond, CA, where she met Wilbur M. Allis (Bill), also a Chemist. They married in April 1946. Alma and Bill shared a love for the outdoors, and moved from El Cerrito to Mill Valley, CA in 1955 where their four children enjoyed the wilds of Marin. Every year, Alma would travel north to a cabin on her beloved Whidbey Island, WA, where her memories began as an 8 year old girl in 1929.

Alma is survived by her four children Dan, Tim, Amy and Chris Allis; and two grandchildren Joana and Mariana Allis. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Doctors Without Borders or the Marine Mammal Center of Sausalito, CA. Join us for a celebration for Alma on Sunday, Jan. 13, 2013, 2:00 PM, at the Community Congregational Church (CCC), 145 Rock Hill Road, Tiburon, CA. Another celebration for Alma will occur in Spring/Summer of 2013 in WA. (The Allis Family -
