Anne Lennier Obituary

Anne Marie LENNIER Anne Marie Lennier was born February 23, 1935 in Eldora, IA to Richard and Lucille Gerlach. She was raised in Hubbard, IA and graduated from Iowa State Teachers' College. She died surrounded by her family on March 2, 2010 after a short battle with lung cancer. Anne married Bill Lennier and taught school in Iowa for a few years before moving to Washington state and starting a family. She worked at Boeing for many years before retiring and moving to Aberdeen in 1996. She volunteered so much at her granddaughter's school in Cosmopolis that she was eventually hired as an assistant there and worked up until a few months before her death. Working with kids was a joy in her life. Anne was an avid reader, crossword fanatic, and gardener. She took great pride in her grandchildren and was a cheerleader at many of their sporting events. Anne is survived by her children Laura (William) Mitchell of Kent, Eric (Stephanie) Lennier of Issaquah, and Martha Lennier (Craig Coic) of Aberdeen; grandsons Tyler and Ryan Lennier, Nathan Holbrook, and granddaughter Kayley Lennier, whom Anne got to share in the joy of raising. Anne is also survived by her brother George Gerlach of Kansas and numerous nieces and nephews. Anne was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Richard and sister, Mary Lou. Donations in Anne's memory are suggested to Cosmopolis Dollars for Scholars Foundation, PO Box 479, Cosmopolis, WA 98537.
