April 29, 1951 - December 13, 2013

Born in Seattle, Washington to Sam and Marion Smith was suddenly called from life early Friday morning, December 13, 2013. Anthony (Tony) was a graduate of Garfield High School and Grambling State University, where he met his wife Doris Johnson Smith whom he married on August 3, 1974. After a successful 26 year career at The Boeing Aerospace Company, which included selection to the Boeing Good Neighbor Fund Board as a board member and Board Chair, Tony served as the Business Manager of Mount Zion Baptist Church, where he was employed at the time of his passing. A deeply spiritual man, Tony was a Deacon at Mount Zion Baptist Church, active with Mount Zion's Youth Ministry, Street Feeding Ministry, Brotherhood Ministry, Bible Study Leader, Church Sunday School teacher, worked with the Boy Scouts and a ready volunteer when called upon. Tony participated in community youth sports programs and served as a coach for baseball and basketball programs. He is a 32 degree Mason of Hercules Masonic Lodge, Inc. of Seattle, Washington. Tony was preceded in death by his father, former longtime City of Seattle Councilmember Sam Smith and mother Marion Smith; brothers Ronald C. Smith and Stephen K. Smith II. Tony is survived by his wife of 39 years Doris J. Smith; children Toron C. Smith and Keestra M. Smith; sister Amelia Smith; brothers A. Carl Smith and Don C. Smith (wife Sarah); nieces Dr. Nicole Smith SaintClair, (husband Nathan) and their daughter Marion; Shasta Smith Esquire, Carnissa D. Lucas-Smith; nephew Clayton Smith (wife Erica) and their daughter Savanah; God children Scipio Dunn, Angela Lyle McClain, Kesia Dumas, as well as extended family and friends.

A memorial service celebrating the life of Anthony E. Smith will be held at Mount Zion Baptist Church (1634 - 19th Avenue, Seattle WA 98122) on Saturday, December 28, 2013 @ 11:00 a.m.
