Anthony "Tony" Genzale

Anthony GENZALE "Tony" (1949-2010) With the passing of Tony Genzale, we have lost a beloved family man, an energetic community leader, businessman, coach, and all around sportsman. He was best known by the community as the owner of Tony's 148th St Market (1986-1999). Loyal customers have followed Tony to his many locations throughout the years, beginning at the Pike Place Market in the early 70's to his most recent store, Tony's Market in West Seattle, where his son Joey is currently selling his father's Christmas trees. Tony was a kind man, always willing to offer a warm smile and a good deal. He was also an avid hunter, fisherman, and he loved his Tues. night bocce! Tony was re-elected SW Suburban Sewer Commissioner in 2009 where he took much pride in caring for his neighbors. Tony passed early Sat morning (Dec 4th) after a battle with cancer at the age of 61. He died peacefully at his home with his wife, Suzy, and children, Joey and Jenna, at his bedside. Tony is also survived by his mother, Antoinette (Anne), his brother, Frank, and his sister Roxann. Preceding Tony in death were his father, Antonio, sister, Diane, and son, Anthony "Moosh." A Rosary in his honor will be held Mon, Dec 13 @ 7pm. and funeral services will be held Wed, Dec 15 @ 10:30am, both at St. Francis Church in Burien.
