Becky MEZISTRANO After 75 wonderful years of life, Becky Mezistrano passed away at home quietly in her sleep. She was the beloved wife of 52 years to her husband Dr. Joseph Mezistrano, terrific mother to her 4 children, Sam (Sharon) Mezistrano, Lenore (Dov) Gelman, Rena (Bruce) Schlanger and Leah (Robert) Mezistrano, and precious Nona to Joey, Joe, Albert, Sammy, Reva, Josh, Orah, Becky, Marilyn, Molly, Joseph, and Regie. Born August 31st, 1935 in Seattle to Rev. Morris and Esther Scharhon, she had 11 siblings. A graduate of Garfield High School, she married her high school sweetheart Joe on August 3rd, 1958. In addition to her siblings, she leaves behind scores of nephews, nieces and friends who will remember her always. Becky enjoyed many hobbies and pursuits, including playing cards, baking, watching the Seattle Mariners and Seattle Seahawks and spending time at her second home in Palm Springs, CA. More than anything, she treasured her family. She inspired so many people with her beautiful smile through her challenging 12 year battle with cancer. She leaves behind a lifetime of wonderful memories to everyone who had the good fortune to know her. Thank you to the Doctors and Nurses and the Polyclinic for your amazing care and help. Funeral services were held Friday April 29th at the Sephardic Brotherhood Cemetery. Aunty Becky will be so missed by everyone. She was an extremely special woman. I have so many great memories from when I was little and we spent our holidays and summer days at their house. She always welcomed everyone.
I also remember all her hard work baking and cooking for the holidays. I looked forward to the Jewish holidays every year. I loved her very much and will continue to think about her all the time.
