Bernice Blake SPRAGUE Bernice passed away peacefully at home on April 4, at age 90, with Fred, her loving husband of 69 years, and daughter Carolyn (Bill) Leak at her side. Surviving family members include son, Alan (Jane), four grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Bernice was devoted to her family, enthusiastically supporting their activities and accomplishments. Bernice, a Seattle native and Garfield HS graduate, attended the UW and a local business college. She was an avid participant in outdoor activities, and volunteered in schools, Scouting, Campfire, and a Seattle Children's Hospital guild. She was a founding member of Wedgwood Swim Pool. Bernice overcame ovarian cancer during the 1980's, and later battled Parkinson's Disease and diabetes. She will always be remembered for her strong spirit, and optimism that carried her through life. Remembrances may be made in her name to Seattle Children's Hospital.
