Bernice Rairdon Obituary

Bernice Martha Kitzke RAIRDON Bernice Martha Kitzke Rairdon, 90, died March 27th, 2011 at the Emanuel Rocking Chair Ranch in Omak. Bernice was born to William and Ella Kitzke Nov. 21st, 1920 in Alexandria, Minnesota on the farm. She attended school in Alexandria, Minnesota until the whole family moved to Wenatchee in her teens where she met Stanley Rairdon a railroad worker and they married. The ceremony was held in Ellensburg, WA. Born to the couple was a vivacious lovely daughter, Dona Jean who graduated from Wenatchee High School and went on to Concordia College in Oregon and became an elementary school teacher. Bernice worked as a grocery store clerk and a Domestic Engineering. The Rairdons enjoyed many special outings with family like camping and fishing trips throughout Washington State and loved to entertain family and friends with lovely home cooked meals and barbeques with carefully planned-out games with prizes! Bernice was a very outgoing, fun loving, caring, lovingly generous-hearted blessing to so very many people. She loved her beautiful manicured yard and floral gardens of luscious blooming flowers which she often picked, bundled and delivered to church; she was a member of Missouri Synod Lutheran Church in Western Washington. She also shared her bouquets with so many people and, faithfully dressed several graves yearly in Western Washington, East Wenatchee and Sunny Slope areas. Bernice made-up food baskets and always brought Birthday cakes, gifts and cookies to the ones she loved. She would secretly surprise people with Easter baskets and egg hunts in their yards. We will certainly miss her lively sharing energetic caring, thoughtful and loving outgoing presents!May the Lord always bless her for making such a wonderful impression and in being there for others! What a difference her days made! Thank you, Bea, for going all out! And for three years, what a wonderful and loving long stay that Bernice Rairdon had at the Emanuel Rocking Chair Ranch with the "awesome" Green family care. Thank you all so much! She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley H. Rairdon; her daughter, Dona Jean Townsley; her brothers, Raymond Kitzke and Earl Kitzke. She is survived by her sisters, Luva Mae Linn,91, of Seattle, Wash., and Georgiana E. Florek, 84 of Omak, Wash. Fred Townsley, the widowed husband of Dona Jean and their children, Michelle, Steven and Bradley Townsley.
