Carrie Markezinis Obituary
Carrie Markezinis

Our beloved wife, mother, and yiayia Carrie accepted our Lord's hand as she stepped into Heaven on October 28, 2012 in Edmonds, WA. She was born September 9, 1934 in Seattle, WA to Theodore and Mary Manus. She graduated from Lincoln HS class of 1952, and has been a lifelong resident of this area. She devoted her love of 51 years to James Markezinis. She is the wonderful mother of four loving sons: Mike (Debbie), Ted, Chris (Dana), and John (Kelly); and a proud Yiayia to Drew, Christina, Makayla, Jimmy, Matthew, and Mikey. She is survived by her brothers James Manus, George Manus; sister Kathy Cooper; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins and many lifelong friends. Carrie will be remembered as a tireless caregiver to all of her family and her community and for her stewardship to Saint Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church. Carrie was an excellent cook, entertainer, story teller, organist, and a wonderful traveling companion. She will truly be missed, but her memories will live among us forever. Trisagion service will be held on Sunday, November 4, 2012 at 7:00pm at Evergreen Washelli, 11111 Aurora Ave N, Seattle, WA 98133. Funeral service will be held on Monday, November 5, 2012 at 11:00am at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 2100 Boyer Ave E, Seattle, WA 98122 with burial to follow at Washelli Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church.
