Catherine Deming CONNELLY Catherine Deming Connelly ("Katie") - Born: Bellingham, Washington August 17, 1914. Deceased: March 5, 2011 Bellevue, Washington. Catherine was the daughter of Mae and Stuart Deming and the granddaughter of E.B. Deming. She attended Fairhaven High School in Bellingham and the University of Washington where she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma. She married William H. Griffith in 1936 and moved to Seattle and raised three children. She was active in various civic organizations - the Seattle Junior League, the University of Washington Arboretum, the Seattle Garden Club, the Children's Orthopedic Hospital and other philanthropic organizations. She was an active member of the Seattle Tennis Club, The Seattle Golf Club and The Sunset Club. Katie enjoyed entertaining and spent countless hours in her lovely garden. She loved to ski, sail and play golf - most importantly, she enjoyed being with her family and friends. Her husband, William H. Griffith, passed away in 1978. She later was remarried to Bruce J. Connelly who also proceeded her in death. Her eldest son, William Stuart Griffith, passed away in 2004. She leaves her daughter, Mary Griffith Marsh (Murray) of San Marino, California and her son, Thomas Barrick Griffith (Lisa) of Ketchum, Idaho and her sister Mary Deming Wilson of Coronado, California. She shared many happy celebrations with seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Services will be private. Donations may be made to the Children's Hospital Foundation in her memory (P. O.
