Chen HSIEH Obituary

Chen Yang (Gene) HSIEH Chen Yang Hsieh, age 84, passed away peacefully at home on March 23, 2011. Born on September 23, 1926 in a small village in Northern China, Gene spent his early years in China and Taiwan, ultimately relocating to Seattle WA in 1961 with his wife of 55 years, Lillian. Gene a "military man" and later an entrepreneur, was a quiet, soft spoken man, but, when he spoke, people listened. Gene is survived by his wife, Lillian, children Vickie (Benjamin), Allen (Sunny) and Joyce (Norman), his grandchildren, who provided him with his greatest joy, Kirby, Mei Mei, Carly, Audrey and Lauryn. He is also survived by his brothers Chen Gang (Li Ping) and Chen Hang (Kay) and numerous nieces and nephews. The family extends a special thanks to Dr. Noah Silver of GHC and to the team of care givers at Faerland Terrace. Services will be held at Bonney Watson, 1732 Broadway, Seattle, WA, on Saturday, April 2, 2011 at 11:00. In lieu of flowers, the family would like you to consider a donation to Kin On Community Health Care, Seattle WA (www.kinon.org).
