Curtis Monroe Holum

Curtis Monroe HOLUM Curtis Monroe Holum, 85, born9/20/25 in Tacoma, WA, died 3/26/11 in Kennewick, WA. Curtis grew up in Portland, OR, where his father was a Professor at Portland State University. He served in the U.S. Navy in WWII, specializing in Morse code. He later wrote about his duty in The Philippines in many of his published short stories. Curtis earned his B.A. at Pacific Lutheran College and attended graduate school at San Francisco State University. He taught in the Bremerton Pubic Schools for over 25 years and retired as head of East High School's English department and golf coach. He loved to play golf and fulfilled his goal of achieving a hole-in-one. Curtis' leaves his second wife Carol T. Holum, Shelton, daughters Catherine Campbell, (Wayne) Bellevue, Karen Holum (Erik Houser) Woodinville, five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren.
