Dale Mar, age 50, of Auburn, passed away September 22nd, 2013, in Dallas, Texas. During his life, Dale touched many people's lives and was always concerned about the welfare of others.

Dale was born September 28th, 1962, in Seattle, the son of Stanley and Su Mar. He married Deborah Doan on December 28th, 1985. Their son, Timothy, was born in 1991. Growing up in White Center, Dale was active in the Boy Scouts, and competitive rifle shooting with the Northwest Totems. He attended Evergreen High School where he participated in both Band and Debate.

After graduating from Washington State University with a degree in Electrical Engineering, Dale had a long, successful career at Boeing in Seattle and later with Raytheon in Seattle and Dallas.

Dale Mar had a lifelong love of music. He played both Bass and Guitar. He joined the band Third Day which later changed names to Mercy Road. He wrote several plays for children for both Brooklake Christian School and New Community Church, usually with a socially relevant and humanitarian theme.

Dale Mar was devoted to his family and church. He was also an active supporter of the YES Foundation in White Center and was a board member of the Evergreen Chapter of the ALS Association.

Through his work at New Community Church in Maple Valley Dale was instrumental in establishing a school and community center in Sierra Leone, Africa.

Dale Mar was predeceased by his parents, Stanley and Su Mar. He is survived by his wife, Deborah, and son Timothy. He is also survived by his brothers, Dana and wife Nadine, Scot and wife Grace, and Roger and wife Colleen, and their children, Danielle, Devon, Riley, Alex, Ryan and Jenna.

A celebration of Dale's life will be held on Saturday, October 12th, 2013, at 2:00pm at New Community Church, 21401 - 244th Ave SE, Maple Valley, WA 98038 (253)826-1799. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the YES Foundation of White Center or The Bridge of Hope at New Community Church in Maple Valley.
