Daniel Mendoza Escalona Obituary
Daniel Mendoza Escalona

Dan Escalona, the handsomest, best-dressed, and at 5 foot 7, the tallest of the Escalona brothers, died on Friday, October 25, 2013. He was a true native: born in Seattle, attended JFK High in Burien and college at Central Washington University, worked summers as a teenager in the salmon canneries of Alaska, and spent the last 32 years with the US Postal Service.

The photos on his fridge showed what was central to his life: family, friends and poker. He loved his mother, Magdalena, and his brothers Ed and Pete. He adored his two nieces Zoe and Sabrina who both agreed he was the "cool" uncle. He leaves an extended clan of Escalonas, Mendozas and Castros who mourn his passing.

He will be missed by all who knew him.

Funeral mass will be held on Saturday, November 2 at 11:30 a.m. at St. John the Baptist in Covington (25810 156th Ave SE).
