Farewell to a bon vivant.
One of the world's great guys has left us, destined for a seat in the sun with a cold drink and a warm smile.
Don Davies took his final bow on Feb. 4. He was, and remains still, a ray of sunshine for all who called him family or friend.
Don was a lover of life, and those lucky enough to be part of the "Dontourage" knew just how lucky they were and will miss him dearly. Especially his wife and best friend Shannon, daughters Meaghan (Ron) and Erin (Jason), grandchildren Parker, Ryan, Grace and Caroline. Sister, Dorothy Gepford (Ron).
For 33 years, every morning before he left for work, Don would write Shannon a personal note. Funny, romantic, tender, but always in acknowledgement that, come what may, they were a team.
Like Shannon, the rest of the family benefited from Don's great sense of humor. Even after being diagnosed with lung cancer, he was certain the doctors had made a "rookie mistake" and they would tell him he wasn't sick.
So join us all in saying: Don't be sorry that it's over, be glad it happened....
A party -- what else? -- for family and close friends will be held in the Spring to celebrate Don with margaritas in the sunshine. Don never missed a party, and this is the only way to say our fond farewells. Time and place to be announced.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Providence Hospice.
