Donna MELILL Donna Melill skiing one of favorite resorts in Canada, Sun Peaks, British, Columbia Donna Melill died Sunday, March 13 following a year long battle with cancer. Donna, a graduate of the University of Washington, worked as a speech therapist for the Lake Washington School District. She also worked as a guide for the Mt. Rainier Guide Service climbing the mountain three times. A coloratura soprano, she was involved with the Seattle Gilbert and Sullivan Society many years, starring in some shows. Later in life as an accomplished watercolor artist she was a member of the Eastside Fine Art Society showing her works at exhibitions. Donna, an avid skier and hiker assisted her husband on more than forty-five hiking and skiing tours in Nepal, Tibet, Norway, Japan, Bulgaria, New Zealand, Canada and Europe. Born in Seattle on August 16, 1937, she is survived by her husband of fifty-two years, Jack of Issaquah; her daughter Sally Seelye of Graham, son Jim in Seattle and grandchildren James, Jason, Jeffrey and Heather Manset, all in Sheffield, Alabama. A remembrance picnic will be held at Mount Rainier National Park (Reflection Lake area) twelve Noon on August 16th, 2011. Jack, Donna was a lady with such class and so many talents. I will miss her friendship. Joe and I will be at the memorial at Mt. Rainier. Stay well.
