Doris Storaasli, 95, of Federal Way, Washington, passed away Friday, March 28th. She and her twin sister were born on November 20, 1918, near Beaubier, Saskatchewan, the first children of August and Dina Olson. The family moved to Comertown Montana the next summer. Doris graduated from Comertown High School in l936 and that fall entered nurses training in Trinity Hospital at Minot.
After graduation she worked for a time as a special duty nurse and later at the hospital in Plentywood. In 1942 she moved to Seattle, Washington, where, on June 5th that year, she was united in marriage to former Plentywood resident Alfred Storaasli. One son, Allen, was born to them on July 5, l944.
During the war she worked at Boeing as "Rosie the Riveter" with her Montana friend Marge Peterson. Later she worked at Boeing as a nurse, a job she enjoyed.
Among her interests were attending Montana reunions and using email.
Doris was preceded in death by her husband who died in 1990; her parents, twin sister Alice Olson and a brother, Larry Olson. She is survived by her son Allen of Federal Way, brother Glen Olson of Seattle, sisters June Heidt of Billings and Evedine Lane of Plentywood. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Bonita Olson of Edinburg, North Dakota, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services will be private.
