Dorothy Marie Sloan HUEY Dorothy Marie Sloan Huey died peacefully at the age of 98 on January 30, 2011. She was born in Miles City, Montana on August 2, 1912. Dorothy was a graduate of Saint Paul's School for Girls in Walla Walla, Washington. She attended Carleton College, Seattle Pacific University and graduated from the University of Washington. She was an avid Husky fan and a 76-year member of the Delta Gamma Sorority. Dorothy and her husband Fred were married on April 10, 1939, in the Epiphany Parish Chapel. Together they raised three children and built the Big Bear Stores. Dorothy was a founding member of the Dr. James B. Eagleson Guild, the first guild to be named after a doctor at Children's Orthopedic Hospital. She was also a founding member of the Saint Nicholas Guild. Dorothy's adventurous spirit took her traveling all over the world. Throughout her life her kindness an generosity touched her family, friends and community. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband. She is survived by her children, Gail Huey Vitek, Marilyn Lee Huey, and Tod F. Huey (Nina); grandchildren, Cheryl Tedrow (Rick), Cynthia McCall (Chris), Jennifer Dougan (Barry) and Kevin Huey; eight great grandchildren; niece Danne Neil! and her children Stephanie and Justin; and her longtime devoted caregiver, Matthew Cronkhite. A Memorial Service will be held, Friday February 11, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Epiphany Parish of Seattle 1805-38th Ave, Seattle, WA 98122. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Seattle Children's Hospital, the St. Nicholas Guild, Epiphany Parish of Seattle (1805-38th Ave., Seattle, WA 98122) or a charity of your choice.
