We only met a few years ago, not fair you were taken so quick. I wanted to share more stories with you. Perhaps, you'll share them with my Dad up there in fireman heaven.

Uncle Doug all the memories I will never forget. Holidays, trips, and visits you always brought laughter and fun everywhere you went. The wood you wrapped in my Nintendo game package for Christmas, spoons at the dining room table, dancing with Burke in March and "Not last night but the night before 24 robbers...." I told every night up on Johns. You will be missed. Katie, Burke, and I thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Little Brother...It is a perfect "Harley Day" in the Northwest as we prepare to Celebrate your Life. You were the brother that was always a kid at heart with the jokes and pranks. You packed a lot of living into your 62 years but you left us way too early. There is a void in the hearts of all that knew and loved you. Ride on Little Brother until we meet again. You will be missed. Love you Always - your Sister.
To my loving husband, I miss you so much. You be with me forever in my mind, my heart, and my soul.

We haven't seen Doug for years, but we have so many great memories - especially his sense of humor (bunny ears with the Groucho Marx glasses ). His passing is a shock and our hearts go out to DJ, Jason, and the rest of the family.

I worked with Doug when we were both brand new firefighters at Station 25. He came in two years after me? We were the new generation that was to carry on for the WW II generation that was nearing retirement age. Myself Jerry Jones and Ron Crabtree on L-10 and Dave Cass, Jim Barton, and Doug on E-25. We loved the job! We would respond to an alarm at 2AM and go down the road Hooping and Hollering from the side and back of the rigs. We ate slept and played together. There were Battalion baseball games after the last day of day shifts. There were campouts at Lake Goodwin. Most moved on, but Doug stayed as the "Rock" at Station 25. Great times we will all miss! It saddens my heart to see Doug go! See you later Doug.

A Tip of the Kelly to Doug, one of the finest drivers the SFD ever had. As the driver of E-34, "A" shift, I always knew I could count on E-25 when Doug was driving. You'll be missed.

Uncle Doug you will always be in our thoughts and prayers. Your holiday table traditions will continue (olives on the fingers and wax in Grandma's face or all over the table). I will always remember the fun times we had when the families got together. The easter egg hunts, big stuff animals, and Red Mountain. My last memory is you cutting a rug on the dance floor at my wedding. We miss you!!

Uncle Doug you are missed!! The flood of childhood memories are full of laughter and fun, but bitter sweet knowing you have left us so soon. You are the uncle we always wanted to be around. You were the fireman with exciting stories, and even started the family tradition of hanging spoons from our noses! When I was young he would buy cases of Girl Scout cookies so I could have the most sales, he always gave my sister and I the biggest stuffed animals for Christmas. It was a treat to visit him and of course the Goats, Sambo, Jake and Jasmine, and even getting the chance to sit on his Harley.... so many good memories that will always be treasured! It was this past March he sat in the back of church making goofy faces while his niece (my sister) was getting married. Uncle Doug danced the night away and I am so thankful we had a last dance that I will never forget. Things will certainly not be the same without you!

I first met Doug at Sinnet's market on lower Queen Anne hill. We were both employed as box boys at the time. He was always fun-loving and a jokster! He made going to work fun! Through the years, while raising our kids, we spent the summers together camping, hiking, canoeing and...! There are too many adventures to describe and now many to remember! Doug will never be forgotten by friends, colleges, family, and others! Dominus Vobiscum and Requiem Eterna Dona Eis Domine. Words from our alter-boy days which seem appropriate now!

I am very saddened from this news.Doug was a very big part of our families lives as we raised our children. He was always such a caring person and was so,so funny. I will always remember the great camping trips we had with his family,Butchie's and ours .Though I have not seen Doug for a year or two I will always remember him. His presence will truly be missed.God bless and all my love to his family and friends.
