Edward Bland Obituary

Mr. Edward BLAND 2/17/1924 ~ 1/29/2011 Edward ("Ed") Bland passed away peacefully at his home on January 29, 2011. Ed was born in England, Arkansas (Lonoke County), son of Joe Bland and Pearlie Green. Ed was the youngest of 6 children that also included Wilson, Geneva, Preston, Leroy, and Roger. Ed married Isola Watson and they were married until her passing in 1977. Ed joined the U.S. Navy and served during WWII, which brought him to the west coast and Seattle. Ed worked at Boeing as a riveter and retired from Boeing in 1986 after 40 years. Ed was a 33rd Degree Mason and an avid fan of the Mariners. Ed is survived by many family, including Gertha Lee Brown, Erma Lee Bland, Warnetta Bland Clingham, Patricia Bland Jordan, and Cynthia Bland Vinson, all of Little Rock, Arkansas; Andre Bland, Esther Bland, godson Marty Sanders, and two special friends Yvonne Hooks and Dolores Roberts, all of Seattle. He leaves many other family and friendsto cherish his life. Services will are scheduled for Thursday, February 10th at 11:00 a.m. at Southwest Mortuary.
