Eileen Marie (Tucker) KITCHEN Eileen Marie (Tucker) Kitchen passed away late Tuesday evening, May 1, 2012, after a courageous struggle with complications from Multiple Sclerosis. She was 57. Eileen was born on January 20, 1955, in Seattle, WA, the beloved daughter of Gordon and Maureen Tucker of Camano Island, WA. Eileen attended St. Matthew's Elementary School and Bishop Blanchet High School in Seattle, leaving shortly after graduation to join the US Army and 'see the world'. She met her husband, Gary Kitchen, while stationed in Augsburg, Germany. Through the years, Eileen told many wonderful stories of her adventures overseas and credited her enlistment in the Army with giving her some of the most interesting and exciting experiences of her life. After returning home, she attended the University of WA and graduated with a BA in Business Administration. Eileen spent her professional career in human resource management and social work, giving tireless compassion and dedication to her work in recent years with the less fortunate and indigent populations. Creative, quirky, and quietly determined, she was an accomplished pianist and artist. She loved animals and couldn't resist a stray kitty, having at least three at any given time. But, more than anything else, she considered her greatest joy, her family. Eileen is preceded in death by her father, Gordon C. Tucker Sr., and brother, Dr. Richard M. Tucker. Eileen is survived by her daughter, Sara Kitchen; mother, Maureen Tucker; brother, Gordon Tucker Jr. (Kathy); sisters, Peg Tucker, Mary Gregersen (Scott), Theresa Novion (Rod); sister-in-law, Malia Tucker; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Monday May 7, 2012 from 9;00am to 4:30p.m. with a rosary taking place a 3;00 P.M. at Gilbertson Funeral Home, Stanwood. Services will be held Tuesday, May 8, 2012, 10:00 a.m. at St. Matthew's Catholic Church - 1240 NE 127th St, Seattle, WA 98125.
