Eric Nunn Obituary

Eric Forrest Nunn

1943 ~2013

Born and raised in Walla Walla, Eric lived most of his adult life in Seattle and died here after a short illness on March 10. He is survived by three siblings and numerous nieces and nephews. Eric earned a BA in Sociology from the University of Washington. After three years service in Germany in Army Intelligence, he returned to Seattle where he received a Masters in Education.

Eric started his own business as an academic researcher before teaching in Seattle Public Schools. He compiled and published a guide to bookstores throughout the area titled, "Books, Books, Everywhere," when that was still true. After he retired, he began working on a vocabulary-building database filled with illustrations from literature for people preparing to take the Graduate Record Exam.

Eric journeyed through life in the pursuit of knowledge. He loved to discuss philosophy, science, the arts, history, and literature always with a bit of wit and a deep sense of humility.

A Memorial/Celebration of Life is planned for 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 29, 2013 at the Edmonds Conference Center, 201 4th Ave N, Edmonds, WA.
