Francis "Frank" Wayland PATTISON, Jr. Born in East Northfield, MA December 16, 1919, died peacefully with family at his side in Seattle, WA on Jan. 10, 2011 at age 91. He is survived by his wife Harriet McCord Pattison (married 1947), sister Meredith Gaskill, brother-in-law Evan S. McCord, four children - Cindy Metler (Dick), Dick Pattison (Patsy), Brad Pattison, and Scott Pattison (Julie), 10 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Through his life, Frank was actively involved with his faith community - most recently at Plymouth Congregational Church where he was a member since 1984. He attended Linfield College to the outbreak of WW II, when he was assigned as a civilian to Bremerton Naval Shipyard to install radar and ordnance systems, including aboard the Battleship Missouri. He completed studies at the UW, with a B.S. in Health Sciences and was a member of Delta Upsilon. Frank was PNW Sales Engineer for Standard Paper Box for 48 years; he was also involved with development of Silver Skis Chalet and the Chapel at Crystal, as well as lodging at White Pass. Frank loved sharing the outdoors with family and friends - camping, sailing, boating and especially skiing. With Harriet, he taught each of their four children to ski by age four, with the mountains becoming the family's favorite winter retreat. 'Buzz' loved being active and trying new things such as lessons on hang-gliders and in sailplanes and helicopters. He is perhaps best known for his passion for projects - ranging from building his own home, to setting up TPs for camping in the San Juans. Upon arrival at a campsite on Puget Sound, Buzz typically would build a raft, fashioned of driftwood, powered by a British Seagull - complete with a flagpole - in less than an hour. Frank was a member of Plymouth Church, The Pacific Northwest Forum, Master Brewers Association, Seattle Yacht Club and Seattle Tennis Club. A service in celebration of his life will be held at Park Shore Retirement Home, 1630 - 43rd Ave E, Seattle, 98112 on Monday, January 24th at 3:00 pm. Remembrances - In lieu of flowers, a donation in his honor to Park Shore Employee Fund, Linfield College, Plymouth, or the charity of your choice is suggested. I was the Executive Director at Park Shore when I first met Frank in 1992. We brainstormed his vision for retirement living where Park Shore would provide health services to a uniquely-built condo to be situated nearby. He was tenacious in exploring every option and every obstacle to the fullest. Frank was so methodical in his approach and always the gentleman.
The pictures are of a trip he put together for colleagues at Park Shore who had an interest in sailing dingies. They wanted to visit a boat builder in Gig Hsrbor and used boats at a youth camp in the San Juans that was very dear to Frank. His son had this magnificent jet helicopter that he and a partner had just rebuilt. It was a most magnificent trip that Frank put together. They decided on 3 dingies in Gig Harbor and formed the tongue-in-cheek Park Shore Yacht Club which became great fun for all of us.

As new members of First Congregational Church of Bellevue in the late 70's and new residents of Medina in the 80's, we were often blessed with gestures of friendship from Frank and Harriet. We so respected Frank's leadership in the church and his voice in Medina affairs. Our prayers are with Harriet and the Pattison family.

Growing up on Evergreen Point Road across the lane from the Pattison's is a fond childhood memory of mine.
Mr. and Mrs. Pattison were both so nice and gracious to us children who loved to roller skating down their driveway.
Thank you for the wonderful childhood memories Mr. and Mrs. Pattison.

A calm, cool and gracious person will be my lasting memory of Frank. His Mojave-dry wit was not wasted on me.
But, the least important and most unforgettable recollection I will maintain was introducing me to his burned peanuts....I really tried my best to share in the taste appreciation!
Frank, it was a pleasure knowing you.
