Frank Watson Obituary

Frank J. WATSON Passed peacefully on July 3, 2007. Born September 1, 1918 in Seattle, Washington. Preceded in death by mother, Elizabeth Schickling, much loved brother, Richard Schickling and adored sister, Margaret Bullock. Graduated from O'Dea High School in Seattle, where in 2002 he was honored for his athletic abilities on the "Wall of Honor" and Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington, where he was the Captain of the team and an All American Basketball Star. After returning from WWII where he flew Corsair (F4U) fighters in the South Pacific theater for the U.S. Marine Corp, he married Helen Sullivan in 1946 "the Love of his Life" and settled in West Seattle. Frank sold athletic sports equipment to schools and teams throughout the State. They retired in 1980 and moved to Arizona to enjoy the sun and Frank worked diligently on his golf game. They returned to West Seattle 5 years ago to enjoy the twilight years with his growing extended family. Survived by his wife of 60 years, Helen; sons, John (Stephen), Ric (Buzz), Andrew (Rhonda) and daughter, Debbie Coghill (Bill); grandchildren, Jennica, Jeff, Cameron, Marybeth, Eric, Katie Rose, Zachary and Roslyn; great-grandsons, Kyle and Michael. Graveside Services will be at Holyrood Cemetery on Saturday, July 7, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, remembrances can be made to the Christian Brothers at O'Dea High School in Frank's name.
