
Fred M. CLOONAN Sr. May 1, 1924 ~ February 3, 2011 LCDR Fred M Cloonan Sr. USN Ret. of Seattle WA, a beloved Husband and Father passed away on Thursday February 3rd 2011. He was born May 1st 1924 in Marlinton WV the son of Jason and Heather Cloonan. Fred was a graduate of the United States Merchant Marine Academy, Class of 1945 and served in the Merchant Marines during World War II. In 1951 he went on Active Duty in the United States Navy and served until his retirement on July 1st 1967. Fred worked in several Maritime Industries until incorporating his own business; Custom Marine Industries of Seattle WA. Fred enjoyed his second retirement in May 1989. Fred was an avid fan of the Seattle Seahawks, Mariners and Storm. He is survived by his loving wife Jan I. Cloonan of Seattle WA; his children; Fred M Cloonan Jr. of Pulaski VA, Patricia C. Prentiss of Williamsburg VA, William M. Cloonan of Waynesboro VA and Christopher A. Cloonan of Staunton VA, along with numerous Grandchildren, Great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Dad though our relationship in life did not start until later, I have cherished every moment I was able to spend with you. I am so thankful that I was able to get to know my father. I will miss you more than I will ever know. Rest in peace Dad.
