George Frederick Raymond was born in Yakima, Washington and moved to Spokane at an early age. He achieved his Eagle Scout and lived the Scout values his entire life. He attended Lewis and Clark High School where he met his future wife, Margaret Heimbach. They were married in Spokane in 1949 and enjoyed 63 years together. George served in the US Army in both World War II and the Korean War. George's love of the outdoors led him into Forestry and he earned a B.S. in Forestry from the University of Washington. He was a member of the Lambda Chi Fraternity where he made many lifelong friends. George worked in various aspects of the Forestry profession his entire career and passed on his love of nature and the outdoors to his children. He was a long-time resident of Bellevue and then Issaquah. In the early 1970's George served on the Bellevue Community Accountability Board for first time juvenile offenders. He was a member of Kiwanis and served as the President of the Providence Point Chapter. He is survived by his daughters Greta and Martha (Roland), his son Bill (Becky), and his 5 grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on February 8 at 2:00 p.m. at Sammamish Hills Lutheran Church in Issaquah. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hopelink (Redmond, WA) or the Salvation Army.
