George M. GREENLUND George Michel Greenlund, age 92 of Lynnwood, WA, lost his battle with cancer on Feb. 9, 2012 at Swedish Hospital in Seattle where he was surrounded by family. He was born Nov. 25, 1919 and was married to the late Lois Mary Greenlund. He is survived by his four children: Judy and partner, Kathy, Bonnie, Rob and wife, Debbie, and Joanne and husband, Mark. Also surviving are seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. George graduated in business from the University of Washington and was a member of the marching band while attending there. The UW is where he met his wife, Lois Baird and they were married on September 4, 1942. After serving in the US Army from 1942 to 1946, he worked for Pacific Indemnity Ins. Co. in Spokane becoming regional branch manager there, while living at Liberty Lake. He will be remembered for his gentle, caring and generous nature. He loved his family dearly and enjoyed most those times when friends and family would gather together. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. A memorial service celebrating his life will be held Saturday, March 10th at 2:00 p.m. at Acacia Memorial Funeral Home, 14951 Bothell Way N.E., in Seattle.In lieu of flowers, the family is suggesting that donations be made to the Swedish Cancer Institute in memory of George Greenlund: www.swedishfoundation.org.
