Gerald John Hosking, 86, beloved Husband of the late Barbara Ann Hosking, Father, Grandfather and Great-Grandfather, passed away on December 28, 2016. Gerry was born in Richmond, California on February 9, 1930 to Mona Jewell Hosking and Gordon Hosking and is survived by his loving children Kathy (Terry Agnew), Michael (Trish), Douglas (Laura), Timothy (Audrey Sokoloff), and Christi and fourteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by all, including Sara, his loyal and beloved golden retriever.
A proud graduate of Stanford University, (1952, School of Political Science), he married Barbara on April 3, 1952 and moved to Richmond, CA to start their family. Gerry was a proficient tennis player, enjoying doubles with Barbara as well as singles well into his eighties. They both traveled abroad in their retired years, especially enjoying the pleasure of cruises. For the past 15 years Gerry was dedicated to working through Seniors Services, driving the elderly to medical appointments.
A private celebration of Gerry's life will be held in February. In lieu of flowers, donations honoring Gerry's life can be made to Stanford University or Evergreen Golden Retriever Rescue.
