Glenn Stanley Obituary

Glenn Edward STANLEY Glenn Stanley died March 2nd, 2011 in Bellevue, Washington. He was born in Tacoma, Washington, November 13, 1922, to Elizabeth and Glenn Stanley. Glenn was a retired insurance professional. He had a passion for the arts, classical music (especially opera), and classic literature. He achieved Life Master in bridge, and will be most remembered for the hundreds of lives he touched as a teacher and mentor of literacy and ESL classes in Bellevue. He is survived by his sister, Gail Smith, of Florissant, Missouri, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and their descendants. He was preceded in death by his sisters Faye Holland and Lillian Biggerstaff. At Glenn's request, there will be no memorial service. The family requests no flowers, but remembrances may be sent to Hopelink in Bellevue.

Glenn was my loving and witty friend; wise and kind mentor; skilled and forgiving bridge partner. It was a joy to be part of his life over the past two decades and a privilege to be at his bedside when he died. I will always cherish the many fond memories I have of him.
