Harold Keltner Obituary

Harold Roy KELTNER, Jr. February 3rd, 1957 ~ January 5th, 2009 Born in Elgin, Illinois, and raised in Santa Ana, California, Harold, nicknamed "Rick" was the only child born to Harold Sr. and Irene Dubois. Brought up by his loving mother, Irene, Rick graduated from high school a full two years early, and joined the Navy at the age of 17. Honorably discharged due to a car accident, Rick then attended college at ASU and received a degree in Business. He spent his 20's climbing through the ranks to become a successful credit manager, but his real achievement came when he met his wife of 21 years, Theresa Castro in 1985. The two were wed on a bluff in San Francisco in 1987, and had a son that year, Harold III, and another would follow in 1990, Duke Emerson. Rick was an avid race fan, attending the Indianapolis 500 a myriad of times and following NASCAR religiously. He loved classic rock music, adored Jimmy Buffet and Stevie Ray Vaughn, and was a tremendously gifted cook. Above all, Rick took pride in his wonderful family and boasted of his talented sons to his friends and relatives on a daily basis. He will be missed by the innumerable people whose lives he has touched over the years. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Jan. 24, at the Greenwood Memorial Park, 350 Monroe Ave. NE, Renton.

How many Rick Keltners could there be in SantanAna /
fountain Valley can there be... I'm crushed to find my very first boyfriend has passed. However, I'm so happy he found the love of his life and had children. our best date was his mother drove us to the drive-in to see MASH and Patton. He was a very sweet boy and I have thought of him many times thru the years. RIP Rick and peace to your family. Kerrie 1971

I met Ricky Keltner when we lived in Santa Ana California at 210 Maui St in a trailer park. This was back in Elementary school and Jr High School. Not sure how I happened across his obituary but I did. Rick and I were boyfriend / girlfriend for a very short while but friends for longer. My family moved away back to Pennsylvania. and we lost touch. He was a great guy and I am sad he is gone. Donna Cooper (now Boggs -married for 43 years so far)

Rick was one of those guys that once you got to know him he was a friend forever. I hired Rick as Credit Mgr at D.W. Close and have never seen anyone as good as he was in that field. We always stayed in touch and were trying to settle on a lunch date when I heard of his death. My condolences to his family. He was a good friend of mine and I'll miss him.
