Harriet Hughes Obituary
Harriet Hughes passed away on October 18th in Shoreline, Washington at the age of 99. She was born on December 15th, 1918 in Mount Vernon, Washington and was the daughter of Sarah and John Meehan. She was the Mount Vernon High School valedictorian in 1936. She graduated from the University of Washington with a degree in Home Economics and Education. She was a member of Sigma Kappa Sorority.
She was a teacher in Shelton, Washington. On an Alaskan Cruise, she met her husband George. They were married in 1949 and enjoyed thirty-seven years of marriage.
She is preceded in death by her husband George. She is survived by her son John (Carolyn) and daughter Bette and grandchildren Christopher, Cory, Melanie, and Sarah.
Celebration of Life is at St. Catherine's of Siena Parish in Seattle at 11:30am, October 24th.
