Harry and I met long ago. I don't recall exactly when, but it would have been at our common worksite at Metro Transit. I am sure it was in the early 1970s. I can't remember driving a bus without knowing Harry. He's the kind of person one never really forgets.
We played a lot of cards with other drivers. It was always cut throat pinochle.
Harry never had a bad word for anyone, ever, that I know of. Even when I made stupid mistakes he would give an encouraging word while others would often make cutting remarks.
The pinochle continued after Harry retired from Metro and moved on to Community Transit. I wasn't able to attend many of the Thursday sessions, but when I did, Hary was often there, still offering his encouraging words with a little laugh and big twinkle in his eye.
Harry was a friend. Since his memorial service memories of times with him have been continually popping into my mind. I hope they never stop. He was and is my friend.

I provided foot care in the past for Harry at the Everett Senior center. He was a wonderful and devote man...he love the Lord and his family with all his heart. It was a joy to talk with him and he always amazed me as he was still working as a bus driver. He is now with the Lord in heaven whom he loved very much.

Due to knowing Harry junior (Herbie) and Richard Gaeth, I have a real understanding of the positive legacy being left behind by Harry Gaeth Senior. You will be sorely missed Sir; but trust me when I say, you live on in others. God Bless.
